Bondi Waverley Squash Club is one of Australia's most active community squash clubs, delivering a wide range of programs and tournaments for juniors, adults and competitive players. We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Squash Coach to join our coaching team.
The successful applicant will play a leading role in developing the club's next generation of players by creating and delivering a sustainable junior pathway program while also leading adult coaching programs and helping grow participation across the club. This is an ideal opportunity for a coach who is passionate about junior development and wants to make a lasting impact within a thriving squash community.
About the Role
This position has two key priorities:
1. Develop and implement a sustainable junior pathway that supports players from beginner through to competitive squash
2. Deliver high-quality adult coaching programs that improve player ability and increase participation.
In addition to approximately 10 hours of scheduled group coaching each week (primarily evenings and weekends), you'll have the opportunity to build your own private coaching business with uncapped earning potential, setting your own lesson rates and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
● Develop and implement a sustainable junior coaching pathway.
● Deliver engaging junior coaching sessions that encourage long-term participation and player development.
● Identify and nurture talented junior players through to competitive squash.
● Deliver high-quality adult group coaching programs.
● Help grow participation by creating welcoming and enjoyable coaching experiences.
● Improve players' technical, tactical and physical abilities.
● Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive coaching environment.
● Work collaboratively with club staff to grow participation and strengthen the club's coaching programs.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
● A genuine passion for developing junior players and growing participation
● Demonstrated success developing and delivering junior coaching programs and pathways
● The ability to coach players of all ages and abilities from beginners through to elite
● Strong communication and relationship-building skills
● A proactive, organised and self-motivated approach
Essential Requirements
● Minimum Level 1 Squash Coaching Accreditation
● Demonstrated experience developing successful junior coaching programs and pathways
● Experience coaching players of varying ages and abilities
● Current Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain)
● First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Highly Desirable
● Level 2 or Level 3 Squash Coaching Accreditation
● Competition coaching experience
● Experience growing participation and club coaching programs
